What’s an Employer of Record (EOR)?

An Employer of Record is the legal entity that employs a contingent labor workforce. They absorb all potential liability and perform all traditional employer duties, including managing employees on a daily basis and HR functions such as onboarding, time capture, paycheck distribution, benefits, workers’ compensation and offboarding. They also work to mitigate HR issues and employee misclassification risks.
